The 2012 SAG Awards: In Black and White and Shades of Grey

Hello Lovelies,

Are you all getting excited for the Oscars?!  I know I am!   Between now and the 84th Academy Awards on Sunday, February 26th, there's only one more movie star red carpet event - the BAFTAs, which happens next Sunday, along with the Grammys!  Although not as visually exciting as the Golden Globes, the celebs were on display last Sunday for the SAG Awards.  For the most part, the stars played it pretty safe and shied away from colour, keeping it black and white or silvery grey.  This was pretty much the opposite of the rainbow of hues seen at the Globes.
Lets take a peek at some of my favs, shall we?

Julianna Margulies in Calvin Klein
Rose Byrne in Elie Saab Couture
I LOVE the jumpsuit!
Naya Rivera in Reem Acra
she's gorgeous!
the newly-engaged Katrica Bowden in Amsale
another lovely lady
Zoe Saldana in Givenchy Couture (check out the sleek collection here)
I'm a little on the fence about this dress, but I like the details...
Bérénice Bejo in Ralph Lauren
another one I'm not totally convinced of...
Judy Greer in Collette Dinnigan
Tilda Swinton in Lanvin
Kelly Osbourne in Badgley Mischka
usually she's a disaster, but this is cute
Viola Davis in Marchesa
it's a tad bridal...
Gretchen Mol in L'Wren Scott
not my fav, but it's kinda cute
Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji
Lea Michele in Atelier Versace
lol this girl's posing is out of control
Elizabeth Chambers in Gucci
Emilia Clarke in Chanel Couture
Maya Rudolph in Naeem Khan
Emma Stone in Alexander McQueen
I love the shoes & the retro skirt!
Jayma Mays in Reem Acra
very pretty!
Stacy Keibler in Marchesa
upstaging George again ;)
Angelina Jolie in Jenny Packham
an interesting dress but perhaps not the best for her figure...
Amber Heard in Zac Posen
love the cutouts, but it looks a smidge too tight...
now for a little colour:

Emily Blunt in Oscar de la Renta
pretty colour, but not the best dress she's ever worn.  also, what's with her hair?
Jane Lynch in David Meister
she actually pulls this off nicely!
Meryl Streep in Vivienne Westwood
very cool, Meryl ;)
Jessica Chastain in Calvin Klein
again, pretty colour, but I think she can do better...
Shailene Woodley in L'Wren Scott
Kyra Sedgewick in Emilio Pucci
I love the colour & the cutouts - she looks great!

Ahna O'Reilly in Nha Khan
this lovely dress was created by my equally lovely designer friend, Khan Nguyen!
Michelle Williams in Valentino
I know everyone always loves what she wears, but I'm still waiting for her to blow me away...
Sofia Vergara in Marchesa
pretty colour
Dianna Agron in Carolina Herrera
she's pretty, the dress is pretty, & her hair is pretty
Julie Bowen in Temperley London
interesting/different, but not the best shape?

Well, that's all for now, folks.  What are your red carpet predictions for the Oscars?!

  4. So many gorgeous gowns! It's hard to pick my favourites but I'd have to go for Rose Byrne in her fab Ellie Saab jumpsuit and Zoe Saldana in Givenchy Couture. I liked their outfits best because they went for something a bit different & daring.
