Trends in Television

Hey All,

Just another quick post concerning tonight's Emmy Awards.  It seems red, white (/nude/metallic), and blue are all still going strong.  But there was also a lot of dramatic black on the red carpet tonight.

I couldn't actually watch the whole show...I found it to be too annoyingly over-the-top to tell the truth.  There were also some really atrocious dresses (Gwyneth Paltrow leads that list, quickly followed by Padma Lakshmi, Julianna Margulies, and Paula Abdul, along with Heather Morris and Kerry Washington whose dresses could have been pretty if their skirts didn't look like a ruffle explosion and dripping blood, respectively...).

But lets not dwell on that ;)  Here are my picks for the best-dressed ladies of the evening, starting with my favourite lbd:

Kaley Cuoco in Romona Keveza
I love this - so easy & different

Emily Blunt in Elie Saab
I confess, I loved most of the Saab-clad ladies tonight...
Anna Paquin in Alexander McQueen

Kelly MacDonald in Stella McCartney

Evan Rachel Wood in Elie Saab
Julie Bowen in Oscar de la Renta
love the dress, just not on her...
Lena Heady in Alessandra Rich
different...I
think I like it...?

Kate Winslet in Elie Saab
my fav lady in red

Lea Michele in Marchesa
when I get past how exasperating she is, I kind of like the dress...
Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan
I like the origami folding at the bottom but I wish she'd get a new stylist!
Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang
I kind of love her ;)
Sarah Hyland in Christian Siriano
pretty colour

Minka Kelly in Christian Dior
prim but pretty

Katie Holmes in Calvin Klein
I really like this!!

Dianna Agron in Roksanda Ilincic
beautiful colour, but could be more flattering...

Cobie Smulders in Alberta Ferretti
the colour is the most exciting part of the dress...

Elisabeth Moss in Marchesa
the illusion shoulders/neckline is so pretty

Rachel Taylor in Giorgio Armani

Kat Deeley in Monique Lhullier
I like her hair, but I think the dress would look better on someone else...

Christina Hendricks in Johanna Johnson
the Art Deco sparkle design is very alluring ;)

And there you have it.  No need to watch the ridiculous sing-along that came after the red carpet...you didn't miss a thing ;)
