Golden Girl

Dear Readers,

I had hoped to have this posted a little sooner, but c'est la vie, as they say ;)

Celebrities showed up for the 84th Academy Awards in every colour under the sun, including black and white.  There were metallic lovelies and some red stunners, as well as many pretty pastels and nudes, jewel tones and brights, with some total wild cards thrown into the mix.  The green carpet eco trend was also still going strong with some gorgeous designs.  As promised, here are all of my picks for favourite dresses from the Oscars.  I've included gowns seen both on the Oscars red carpet, as well as at the Vanity Fair after party.

Meryl Streep in eco Lanvin
this dress is a winner!

Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen
just gorgeous!  probably my fav dress of the night!

Marisa Miller in Johanna Johnson

Irina Shayk in Abed Mahfouz Couture

Ellie Kemper in Armani Privé
it's pretty front-on, but worrisome when seen from the side view...

Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad
JLo continued her low-cut look at the Vanity Fair party

Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton
supposedly this dress took 300 hours to make!
I LOVE it!!!

Diane Kruger in Calvin Klein
very daring - love it!

Kate Hudson in Vintage Versace

Natalie Portman in vintage Christian Dior, c. 1954
very sweet

Livia Firth in Valentino with Colin Firth
another Green Carpet Challenge dress, made from recycled polyester from plastic bottles

Emma Stone in Giambattista Valli

Claire Danes in Valentino
this shape & colour is so good on her!!! love!

Louis Roe in Black Halo
I love the jacket-into-dress design

Kate Mara in Elie Saab

Penelope Ann Miller in custom Badgley Mischka
it's kind of pretty, but she needs better undergarments...

Sarah Hyland in Alberta Ferretti

Virginia Madsen in Kevan Hall

Maya Rudolph in Johanna Johnson

Jon Hamm & Jennifer Westfeldt

Tina Fey in Carolina Herrera
she looks amazing!

Best Actor Winner Jean Dujardin & Alexandra Lamy in Azzaro

Leslie Mann in Roberto Cavalli

Katie Holmes in Elie Saab
I love the sapphire blue!

Busy Philipps in Dolce & Gabbana
pretty dress, cute shoes

Penélope Cruz in Armani Privé
Old Hollywood glam!

Lily Collins in Monique Lhullier
love the blue pattern

Esperanza Spalding
I loved her rendition of 'What a Wonderful World'

Elizabeth Banks in Chadwick Bell
makes me think of Ginger Rogers :)

Bérénice Bejo in Elie Saab
the mint green makes me feel Springy ;)

Maria Menounos in Maria Lucia Hohan
another pretty green gown

Kelly Osbourne in Badgley Mischka

Glenn Close in Zac Posen
it is a lot better than what she has been wearing...

Olga Kurylenko in Georges Hobeika

Shailene Woodley in Proenza Schouler

Rashida Jones in Elie Saab
love the canary yellow

Nancy O'Dell in Chagoury Couture
it hurts my eyes!  but it's also strangely pretty??

Cameron Diaz in Victoria Beckham
love this zesty colour on her so much more than her Oscar red carpet look

Julie Bowen in Halston

Kristen Wiig in J. Mendel
she loves her nude dresses, but I like this one too

Cameron Diaz in Gucci

Wendi McLendon Covey
a little "bridesmaid"ish perhaps, but pretty nontheless

Shailene Woodley in Valentino
I like how this dress is atypical for the red carpet

oscar winner Octavia Spencer in Tadashi Shoji
I love this dress on her!

Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford
I kind of love the cape idea.

Georgina Chapman in Marchesa
pretty dress, pretty lady

Kelly Ripa in Carolina Herrera

Milla Jovovich in Elie Saab

Rooney Mara in Givenchy
it's pretty, but I was expecting something a bit more exciting from Rooney...

Sofia Vergara in Roberto Cavalli

Li Bingbing in Georges Chakra Couture

Jennifor Lopez in Zuhair Murad
it's kind of pretty but made me nervous (was that a wardrobe malfunction?!)

Giuliana Rancic in Tony Ward
hate the hair, love the dress

Bar Refaeli in Roberto Cavalli

Victoria Beckham in Victoria Beckham

Selena Gomez in Dolce & Gabbana

Karolina Kurkova in Armani Privé
love the sleeves of this jumpsuit & the red heels!
the lovely Miss Piggy in Zac Posen & Kermit the Frog

Judy Greer in Monique Lhullier

Kate  Bosworth in Prabal Gurung

Gary Oldman & Alexandra Edenborough in Roberto Cavalli

Rose Byrne in Vivienne Westwood

Felicity Jones in Johanna Johnson

Sofia Coppola in Yves Saint Laurent
yay for jumpsuits!

Olivia Wilde in Gucci
the best part is the belt

and last, but certainly not least,
Angelina Jolie (& her now famous leg haha) in Atelier Versace

Well, that's about it!  What were your favs?!

Au Revoir!

Corinne
