The 2012 BAFTA's Green Carpet

Dear Readers,
With only one week to go before the Oscars, I thought we'd review this year's BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Awards.  In contrast to the colourful Golden Globes and last year's BAFTAs, the BAFTAs this year were, for the most part, a black-and-white affair, similar to the SAG Awards' red carpet.  Any Academy Awards colour predictions??!  There was another interesting and 'colourful' trend at the BAFTAs - a few celebrities were going green with eco-friendly and sustainable designs!

Before we take a trip across the pond, let's have a look at my favs from the BAFTA Tea Party in Los Angeles:

Felicity Jones in Dolce & Gabbana
I love the shape & colour
Bérénice Bejo in Elie Saab
Emilia Clarke
cute shoes!
Penelope Ann Miller
Lena Headey in Collette Dinnigan
Michelle Williams in Victoria by Victoria Beckham
cute, but still not wow, Michelle
Victoria Summer
Ahna O'Reilly
she just needed better undergarments...
Ariel Winter
Viola Davis
this colour is amazing on her!
Andrea Riseborough in Escada
Claire Holt
I LOVE the turquoise/purple combo!
Elizabeth McGovern in Azagury
is it a little too retro?
Jane Seymour looking ravishing in red
Stana Katic in Valentino
very pretty
cool girl Evan Rachel Wood in Roland Mouret
Shailene Woodley in Jason Wu
Gugu Mbatha-Raw in Escada
the lovely Charlize Theron in Stella McCartney

And now for my BAFTA red carpet favourites:

Jessica Chastain in Oscar de la Renta
she finally wowed me!  she also looked lovely in Alexander McQueen at the Elle Style Awards!
Tilda Swinton in Céline
sleek & simple
Kristen Wiig in Alberta Ferretti

Berenice Marlohe in Dior

Myanna Buring

Olivia Williams in Vivienne Westwood
a tad matronly, but pretty
Michelle Williams in custom H&M Conscious Collection
I still think you could do better, Michelle
Gary Oldman & Alexandra Edenborough
she looks gorgeous!

Elizabeth McGovern in Azagury
Melissa George in Victoria Beckham

Joanne Froggatt in Victoria Beckham
slipping out of her Downton Abbey maids uniform into a super sexy lbd

Claudia Winkleman in Ossie Clark

Jessica Brown Findlay in Alessandra Rich
it's interesting, but she's such a pretty girl & could have worn something way more flattering
mama-to-be Elsa Pataky
Alycia Lane
Colin Firth in Giorgio Armani & Livia Firth continuing her Green Carpet Challenge in Paul Smith
Bonnie Wright in Vintage
minus the tights, it's cute...for the Tea Party

Francesca Gardiner
Gemma Chan
Laura Bailey in Chanel
it's kind of all-over-the-place, but I still like it
Viola Davis in a Valentino's 1st ever 'eco gown,' made from recycled plastic bottles
Fearne Cotton in Moschino
love this colour!
Emma Watson in Valentino

John Hurt & Ann Rees Meyers
she looks lovely

Penelope Cruz in Armani Privé
pretty, but boring

Poppy Delevigne

Bérénice Bejo in Azzedine Alaia Haute Couture

Rebecca Wang
how does this dress stay up??!
Shailene Woodley in Dolce & Gabbana
all sweetness & light

Holliday Grainger in Valentino
very pretty
James Corden & Julia Carey

Gillian Anderson in Sybil Connolly
interesting...
Naomie Harris in Pucci
she looks like a goddess
Cristina Ricci in Givenchy Couture
Jonathan Rhys Meyers & Reena Hammer showing some leg!

Dawn Porter & Chris O'Dowd

official BAFTA red carpet host, Miss Piggy, in custom Louis Vuitton

Here's a clip of my favourite, Miss Piggy, hosting the BAFTAs red carpet:

And here's a funny moment from the show for all of us who don't live in the UK & missed it:

See you at the Oscars!!!

Corinne

  5. Andrea Riseborough is a silver screen goddess transported to the present day. Absolutely gets it right every time. And who knew Joanne Froggatt was so completely stunning? Further proof that Mrs Beckham DOES know how to design a good dress xx
