Hello Dear Readers,
My
Valentine's Day post was so much fun, I've decided to follow suit and dedicate this post to the colour
green, in honour of
St. Patrick's Day! I don't know about you, but my family always celebrates St. Patrick's Day...we're Irish, what can I say?
The above photo is what might first come to mind when you think of
"green fashion"...ethical, ecological, earthy. Now don't get me wrong, I love eco-friendly, sustainable fashion! But the following photos are my initial thoughts when I mix the words "green" and "fashion:"

And just in case you're wondering, "why do people wear green on St. Paddy's Day anyway?," here's the answer (thanks to
Wikipedia and
Answers.com):
The colour green is associated with Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland (also called the Emerald Isle). On March 17, 1798, Irish rebel soldiers wore green uniforms in order to make a politic
al statement. And if you wore a shamrock in your hat, it meant you supported the Rebellion. Thus began the saying "the wearing of the green."
Also, the colour green is represented in Ireland's flag and is supposed to represent the Catholic population (think Saint Patrick again), while the orange represents the Protestants and the white represents peace between the two groups.
So there you go. Now you know why you should consider wearing green this St. Patrick's Day ;)
"May the luck of the Irish enfold you."
Happy St. Patrick's Day

Lovely salute to the greener side of things. The Vogue Italia 2004 shot takes the cake for me,with the Chris Sebastian pics coming in 2nd and 3rd. Funny story, I used to live above the greta constantine studio. So hello fellow Torontonian!
